• School Activities - Schools will be encouraged to celebrate Dyslexia Awareness Week with creative competitions and activities. Schools will
also be able to raise money for their dyslexia initiatives by taking part
in the Cookie Time Smart Cookies fundraising programme and by entering our $20,000 prize pool draw.

• LET US KNOW WHAT YOUR SCHOOL PLANS TO DO

We are keen to share the creative capital that exists in our schools.

  • One school down south is planning to join forces with three other schools to have a creative
kids competition - engaging local businesses for prizes, well known local people for judges
and dyslexic adults to talk to children and local media

  • A student group from a secondary school in Wellington is in the planning stages of a school-
wide dyslexia fundraising and awareness raising activity

  • A secondary school in Auckland wants to produce its daily school notices in a way that
reflects how a dyslexic student might see things. We at the Foundation think this is one
  newsletter not to be missed!

Let us know what you're planning. And don't forget to check out the flyer in the DAW Resource Kit for other creative ideas.

• Why not organise a group from your school to watch the Dyslexia Awareness Week movie - Taare Zameen Par
